If you volunteer in Africa today you are heading for one of the greatest experiences of your life. Africa is a continent with many countries, most of which need your help. There is over a billion people living on the continent today and over half of them are under the poverty line.

Africa is the world’s second-largest and second most-populous continent, some might say it’s also the most diverse. The continent is made up of 54 countries with the largest of those being Sudan. Many regions within Africa are hostile and hard to reach. The Saharan desert is the largest in the world and covers many countries within in. Africa is also home to some of the densest jungle with remote places not yet even visited by humans. The African continent is poor for a number of reasons. The climate is somewhat harsh with constant droughts and floods ravaging nations. To add to the mess when countries in Africa receive aid from abroad most of the time is goes to corrupt governments. There needs to be rapid change in a number of areas to solve these problems.

Volunteering is not going to be able to stop the issues of climate change. It can however help with the recovery of areas affected. Not only with weather but all the problems many third world countries face including poverty, HIV/AIDS, famine and ethnic violence.  Volunteers have been coming to Africa to assist with many projects in the aid to improve the standard of living for all the people living there.

Volunteering is a once in a lifetime opportunity and has benefited so many people. Not only the locals benefit but the volunteers taking into account the inspiration, gratification and joy they receive from helping people who are truly in need. Be apart of something special today and volunteer your services in Africa. It is truly life changing.
